Heineken Hunts

A Global Green Trail

They call themselves "the world's most international brewer," but is Heineken truly as global as they claim? As someone who has set foot in every country on Earth, I decided to put this bold assertion to the ultimate test. This collection chronicles my extraordinary journey sampling Amsterdam's iconic crisp lager across the planet's most diverse landscapes—from bustling metropolitan rooftops to remote mountain villages, sun-soaked beaches to arctic outposts.

Here, I chronicle the many places where I’ve sipped a Heineken — sometimes ice-cold and beachside in the South Pacific, other times shared with strangers in remote outposts across Central Asia. Each entry captures not just the taste that comes out of that familiar green bottle but the remarkable stories behind finding Heineken in the most unexpected corners of our world. Whether it's sharing a pint with other explorers in Sub-Saharan Africa, discovering it in a hidden speakeasy in Eastern Europe, or toasting the midnight sun in Greenland, these "beerscapes" reveal how this Dutch brew has woven itself into the fabric of drinking culture across the globe.

So, join me as I validate Heineken's international credentials one sip at a time, proving that sometimes the best way to measure a brand's global reach is through the eyes—and taste buds—of a dedicated traveler. From the beaten path to the beautifully remote, this is where wanderlust meets world-class brewing.
